Haydee Flores Perez is a self taught figurative and portrait artist. She was born in Argentina and lived in the USA and Spain before settling on Mersea Island, UK in 2020. She became a full time artist In 2018, when she retired from her teaching career in Malaga, Spain. Through 25 years of independent study and dedicated studio practice, she has developed a style that translates both in her traditional and digital media. Her work explores themes of the human experience. She aims to capture the essence and emotions of her subjects through storytelling. Her work is representational but in parallel she creates a body of work in constant evolution that explores and experiments with surrealism and symbolism. She has completed commissions for clients and sold her work to collectors in the UK and abroad. She's a founding member of The Mersea Art Collective a group of artists on Mersea Island. They organise a yearly art trail, group exhibitions and participate and collaborate in community organised events. Haydee has exhibited in local venues in San Isidro, Buenos Aires and NJ, USA since the 1990s. More recently, in the Boomer Gallery in London(2024), The Pond Gallery in Snape Maltings(2024), Cultura Viva Gallery in Buenos Aires(2025), and local venues and galleries on Mersea Island and Tollesbury.
