Haydee Flores Perez is a self taught figurative and portrait artist. She was born in Argentina and lived in the USA and Spain before settling in the UK. Her portraits and figurative paintings have a strong narrative with surrealistic and symbolic elements. Exploring the subjects' loss, grief and struggle transitioning into peace, serenity, strength, and joy. Her work includes real people and imaginary figures where she can express her imagination. Haydee started her painting career working in acrylics and oils, but now also experiments using charcoals, pencils and digital media. Her love for experimenting makes her work varied and in constant evolution. Haydee is a member of three artist's groups, two in the UK and one in the USA, to which she regularly contributes. She is a founding member of the Mersea Art Collective and participates with them by selling her work and taking on commissions in exhibitions and opens her home studio for visitors during the Mersea Island Art Trail .
