About Jenny

Combining a love of the sea with her passion for art, creativity and the natural world Jenny uses upcycling and recycling techniques to produce new and unexpected creations. Her wooden works are made by hand on Mersea Island using old boats and flotsam and jetsam finds. She first started making her spindrift creatures during lockdown. All Jenny's wooden pieces are made from a 100 year old West Solent which sadly no one wanted to restore and whose timbers were heading for the fire. Jenny wanted to give the boat another life and along with salvaged driftwood, sea glass and ceramics she aims to use as much of the boat as possible, re-using the original bolts and screws and often highlighting original features. Jenny is also currently studying for her master's degree in Wild Writing.
